Children’s liturgy
Children’s liturgy On most Sundays the children before they have made their first communion are invited to go to the hall with their worship leader for their own liturgy of the Word returning to the main body of the church at the Presentation of the Gifts.
Children’s Liturgy of the Word (CLOW) meets during term times. We are a fun group usually of ages from babies up to children of First Holy Communion age. We meet during the Mass on a Sunday in the parish hall, and welcome children to bring their parents with them or come alone. All volunteers are DBS checked. Our activities are linked to the message of the Gospel and are aimed to appeal to children. We may be singing, colouring and cutting out a scene, acting out a story, having a discussion, or listening to a story – we like and encourage the children to engage and enjoy their time at church. We return to the Mass at the Offertory and like to bring our work to the front to show the priest and the congregation what we have done, as well as bringing the gifts of bread and wine to the altar. CLOW is run by one of the Catechists taking the sessions on a rota basis – the sessions are run if there are children about to make their first communion. Please contact the Parish Office if you are new to the parish and would like your child to participate in the group,
